Does this look like me, out of curiosity? Everyone always says that my self-portraits don't look like me. Before I die, I'd like to create one that does. Anyways, first time I ever did a person in watercolor. It was nerve-wracking.
Oh, one last thing. This weekend, on Saturday night, I saw Castle in the Sky. Really sweet movie. Love Miyazaki's work. Well, it just so happens that the guy who played Luke Skywalker had a voice role in it. My dad can't stand Luke or any of the old Star Wars films because, in his words, Luke is too much of a "goody goody two-shoes." Now, in my humble opinion, no one knows the true meaning of "goody goody two-shoes" until one's read Oliver Twist. Oliver was enough to make even me nauseous. Honestly, no one is that good. NO ONE. Anyways, turns out that Luke Skywalker voices the role of Muska (best-guess spelling), who is like the ultimate evil guy. He does a good job of sounding evil, too. I just found that amusing, especially since I thought muska meant fly in Spanish. Though, according to my dad, it doesn't.
the self portrait definitely looks like you! i could tell right away.
ReplyDeleteeven though i really have no idea what the top one is, i really like it. i bet i could tell if i saw it in real life. or i am just crazy and am looking too hard or something. but i love the value and all the creases in the rock form thing at the top left. its very nice.
Amy - Okay weirdness. I totally see a cat in the path in the first image. Do you see it? It's big, takes up the whole path, two little paws, mouth, nose, eyes, ears. Remind me to show you. Weird.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I see it. Every time I look at it now, that's what pops out.
ReplyDeleteAmy it looks just like you! These paintings are wonderful, I don't know if I've ever seen a watercolor by you before. This one turned out really well!
ReplyDeleteAlso I see the cat :O the fact that the path looks like there is a cat kinda feels like it suits your concentration. I like it :)
